Product Review: Macadamia Natural Oil Ultimate Repair Gift Set

I love Xmas. Well, I hate the crowds at the shops, and I can’t say that I enjoy it when the large credit card bills come rolling in after Xmas. But what I do love is all the amazing gift sets that pretty much all brands release in the lead up to Xmas, gift sets where you get bonus products at great prices.

Having long hair, I am always on the lookout for products to help maintain its health, so I was excited when I was asked to trial the *Macadamia Natural Oil Ultimate Repair Gift Set;

 What They Say:
"Take a moment out of the busy Christmas season to pamper and nourish hair. The Rejuvenating Shampoo provides intense nourishment and protects hair, while Luxurious Oil Treatment smooths, detangles and adds luscious shine. Deep Repair Hair Masque is an instant hair reconstructor which restores silky smoothness, and the No Tangle Hair Brush gently diffuses tangles."

RRP: $79.95 (save $37.85)  for Gift Set containing: Rejuvenating Shampoo (300ml), Deep Repair Hair Masque (100ml), No Tangle Hair Brush and Luxurious Oil Treatment (125ml) - Available from i-glamour online

What I Say:

Having recently trialled the Macadamia Natural Oil Flawless, which is such an amazing multi-tasking shampoo, conditioner and treatment in one, I was excited to be trialling more products from the Macadamia Natural Oil range.

The Macadamia Natural Oil contains a high amount of Omega 7 fatty acids which is an essential component of skin and hair health. The oil also helps protect the hair from harmful UV rays, extends the life of colour treatments, improves elasticity and reduces drying time.

The Rejuvenating Shampoo is designed to replenish moisture and protect hair from harsh environmental elements.

The shampoo is colour safe, and free from sulfates and parabens, which always gives bonus points from me. Sometimes shampoos free from sulfates are difficult to lather up, but that is not the case, as just a small amount of the shampoo easily gives a nice soft lather.

I usually wash my long hair every second day, but just one wash is sufficient to make my hair feel soft and clean, and without feeling squeaky or stripped for moisture.

The Deep Repair Hair Masque is also free from parabens and alcohol, and it is a revitalizing hair reconstructor for dry, damaged hair. It is meant to be used after shampooing and left in the hair for up to 7 minutes before rinsing. It is not to be used more than twice a week.

This hair mask is thick and creamy, yet it spreads so easily into the hair, and instantly absorbs into my dry locks.

Intense hair masks are often difficult to rinse out of the hair, leaving it feeling greasy, but the Deep Repair Hair Masque rinses out quickly and easily without leaving behind any residue, and even before combining my hair, I can feel that it is already feeling a lot softer.

The No Tangle Hair Brush utilises a unique ‘flex bristle’ design that gently diffuses tangles and knots painlessly and safely to detangle hair. The remarkable bristles eliminate pulling, split ends and breakage.

My hair is also often quite tangled when I have washed my hair, and I must admit that when I saw the brush, and felt the soft bristles, I thought that there was no way it would be able to comb through my thick long hair. But how wrong was I. After washing it and using the treatment mask, my hair is so easy to comb with the No Tangle Hair Brush, it is such a breeze.
The No Tangle Hair Brush has a fresh lime green colour, and it claims that the brush smooths the cuticle layer for increase shine and manageability, and minimises breakage, splitting and damage caused by unnecessary hair stress, and I have to say that when it is so easy to comb my hair, it would definitely reduce the amount of stress the hair is exposed to, and less hairs would break each time the hair is combed. Another thing I love is that after use, it is so easy to remove hairs from the hair brush, as well as it is so easy to clean and wash. I have quite a few hair brushes, but I have to say that none of them have been used since I got this brush!

The Luxurious Oil Treatment is to be used for both styling and finishing, instantly absorbing into the hair providing moisture, softness, protection, control and shine to the hair. It can be used both damp and dry hair.

When the oil is applied to damp hair, you can instantly feel your hair get an additional moisture boost. And applied to the hair once dry, it again provides extra moisture to the hair making it look healthier and shinier, and reduces shine at the same time, all while not weighing it down or making it look greasy. In saying that, the oil is extremely concentrated, so be careful not to use too much or your hair may end up looking greasy, but that is only a good thing, as using so little means a bottle will last you a long time.

All the products have the most beautiful gentle and natural fresh floral scent, which although it does fade a little once your hair has dried, you can still continue to smell it in your hair throughout the day.

The products come in gorgeous packaging, brown with beautiful floral/paisley design, and fresh bright lime green labels and lids. They look stunning in the shower, and they really make a statement amongst other products on the market.

Having long hair that has been coloured countless times and not to mentioned damaged by summer after summer of being exposed to damaging UV rays, my hair is a little damaged, and dry at the ends. But combined, these products make my hair feel silky soft, shiny and healthy they make my hair look and feel. My dry ends look healthier and more moisturised, and any frizz is more or less eliminated.

What I Like:
  • How soft, shiny and healthy the products make my hair look and feel
  • My dry ends look healthier and more moisturised, and any frizz is more or less eliminated
  • The beautiful fresh floral scent
  • The unique design of the bottles
  • The shampoo is free from sulfates and parabens, the masque free from parabens and alcohol, and the oil treatment free from alcohol
  • The brush makes it a breeze to comb my hair, and consequently stops my hair from breaking

What I Don’t Like:
  • The products are a little pricey, but also of very high quality and very concentrated

$79.95 for this gift set may seem a little expensive, but I feel that it great value for such high quality concentrated salon products, and it is saving you a whopping $37.85 compared to buying the products individually.

Overall these are really amazing products, and I love shiny and healthy they make my hair look and feel. I will thoroughly enjoy using the remainder of these products, and will definitely consider buying them again when I run out. If you have dry or damaged hair, or your hair just needs a little extra TLC, then I’m sure you’ll love these products too!
