PRODUCT REVIEW: PCA SKIN PERFECTING NECK AND DECOLLETE

I am guilty, very guilty of having neglected the skin on my neck and décolleté . To be honest, I don’t really know why, as I have always taken great interest in skincare, and started using it at a very young age, all no doubt due to my Mum who has always looked after herself and her skin, and still does to this day. So when I was asked to trial the PCA Skin Perfecting Neck and Decollete* I happily accepted as I’ll do anything to correct and repair the damage already done. Here are my thoughts;

What I Say:

So over the years I definitely haven’t been looking after the skin on my neck and décolleté as much as I should, and definitely in my younger days didn’t apply sunscreen to the area daily, so sadly, naturally, the area has been through a bit and is suffering a bit of damage. I can clearly see that the skin is no longer appearing as plumb as it once did, few minor lines and wrinkles are creeping in, but worst of all is the uneven skin tone and pigmentation that seems to just be getting worse and worse every summer. In spite of now religiously applying a thick layer of sunscreen before venturing outside in the sun.

And if you didn’t know it, apart from the hands, the décolleté is one of the first areas to really show the signs of ageing as the skin is simply so thin in that area as well as it is often very exposed to the sun’s harsh rays.

The Perfecting Neck & Décolleté promises to strengthen and repair the damage done, by improving the firmness of the neck area, reducing fine lines and wrinkles and minimising any redness and hyperpigmentation, and help with thinning skin and laxity, all without irritating the skin.

The cream contains among others palmitoyl tripeptide-38 which helps boost protein and collagen formation in the skin, and hence strengthening and increasing elasticity to prevent sagging and wrinkling

It also contains calcium hydroxymethionine, which has been shown to improve skin quality and the skin cells in the outermost layer of the skin, stimulate collagen and reduce the appearance of wrinkling and sagging skin.
It also contains niacinamide helps correct and miminise hyperpigmentation and reducing redness, as well as retinol to help even the skin tone.

The is quite light, and absorbs quickly into the skin, yet it is very moisturising and it leaves my skin feeling thoroughly moisturised without feeling greasy. It comes in a tube with a flip lid and it has a gentle floral scent that quickly fades.

The Perfecting Cream is quite concentrated so you do not need to use a lot, and after having now used it twice a day for 6 weeks, I’d estimate that I would have approximately used half the tube.

So how were the results after using the Perfecting Neck and Decollete Cream morning and night for about 6 weeks?

Well, already after a week I was impressed with the results I was seeing at such an early stage. And now after six weeks I am awestruck! The skin on especially my décolleté is so thoroughly moisturised that you can clearly see that the skin looks so much plumper and firmer and fine lines seems to have visibly reduced in size. But where I really notice the difference is that my skin looks so much more even. Clusters of sunspots and pigmentation is less noticeable and have faded in both size and colour, and the skin tone is simply more even and looks more radiant and younger as a result.

The cream is not exactly cheap at $105.60 for a 85g tube, but this cream actually works and does what it promises – and I am so impressed that I will definitely continue using this to try to achieve further results and ward off further signs of ageing, and we head towards spring and summer again, I will be making sure that I am using plenty of sunscreen and covering up my chest well, so I won’t un-do these improvements. If you too are concerned with wrinkles and pigmentation of your décolleté, then I highly recommend that you try this Perfecting Neck and Decollete Cream from PCA Skin, you won’t be disappointed.
