PRODUCT REVIEW: ECOTOOLS PERFECTING BLENDER DUO AND ENHANCING BRUSH SET

Today I'm excited to share with you some recent releases from Eco Tools, The Perfecting Blender Duo and the Enhancing Eye Brush Set.

First up there's the Perfecting Blender Duo, which is a pack containing two makeup sponges, a small one and a large one. The large sponge is soft and flexible and has been designed to help blend your liquid foundation to help create the perfect, even look, while the smaller sponge has been designed to be a little firmer, to make help make precision coverage easier.

The sponges have various edges, including a larger flat surface to help apply product to large surface areas, a round base to seamlessly blend lines, and a wedge tip to get into smaller areas such as under the eyes etc, and like other makeup sponges, these can be used either wet or dry.

The makeup sponges are made from a unique EcoFoam technology that is made up of 70% plant based-materials, and they are also latex free, 100% vegan, and dermatologist tested - and I also love their green colours, as I think, like most others, I have enough pink makeup sponges, so it is such a refreshing change.

Of the two sponges, I am particularly enjoying the larger one, and find that it gives my skin a lovely even finish, but I am not quite sure about the smaller one, which I do find a tad hard - probably because I am used to softer sponges, so it probably just takes a little more getting used to. The sponges appear to be of a good quality, and great value for money too, although I am yet to wash them, so cannot speak of how they perform afterwards. But regardless, definitely worth a try.

Then there are the new makeup brushes, including the Enhancing Eye Set, which contains two double ended brushes, so four brush heads in total, designed to shade, define, blend and smudge.

One brush contains a Shade Brush with soft tapered bristles in one end to apply eye shadow all over the lid with, and a Define Brush in the other end, which is angled to help line and define the eye shape.

The second brush contains a Blend Brush in one end which has a rounded edge to eliminate streaks and harsh lines, and in the other end a Smudge Brush which has short bristles to help smudge the shadow and liner along the lash line.

The brushes are handcrafted and have the trademark timber shafts and are so soft and gorgeous. For travelling purposes the double ended brushes are super convenient, but for every day use, I generally store my brushes in a brush holder, which is thus not possible with these - so I would essentially prefer if they weren't double ended - but that said, they are so soft and gorgeous that I still wouldn’t' mind adding a few more to my collection.

EcoTools Perfecting Blender Duo - RRP: $19.95
EcoTools Enhancing Eye Set - RRP: $17.99

PRODUCT REVIEW: MAYBELLINE NEW YORK COLOR JOLT INTENSE LIP PAINTS

Last week the most gorgeous little PR parcel arrived at my door step - a little 'paint jar' filled with one of Maybelline's newest releases, the Lip Studio Color Jolts Intense Lip Paints.

These little tubes promises to "Go beyond gloss with a jolt of intense colour. Paint your lips in dramatic color with Maybelline's Lip Studio Color Jolt that has 8x more pigment than a lip gloss".

These liquid lipsticks are insanely pigmented, and you can either apply them lightly for a mild yet still solid colour, or for a bold intense look apply an additional coat. Application is easy as they have a flocked precision applicator, that makes following the lip contours easy.

In Australia there are currently 8 shades available;

05 Stripped Down - a dusty beigy nude pink
10 Never Bare - a medium dusty pink
15 Fight Me Fuchsia - a hot pink
20 Orange Outburst - an bright orangy-red
25 Talk Back Red -a classic red
30 Red-dy Or Not - a darker and warmer red
35 Berry Naughty - a berry shaded red
40 Violet Rebel - a purple

L-R: 05 Stripped Down, 10 Never Bare, 15 Fight Me Fuchsia, 20 Orange Outburst, 25 Talk Back Red, 30 Red-dy Or Not35 Berry Naughty, 40 Violet Rebel

I am not personally a fan of pale or nude lips such as Stripped Down or Never Bare although Stripped Down is darker than most nudes, so surprisingly, I've actually taken to that one, so will have to give Never Bare another chance too! I am also not overly comfortable with solid purple lips such as Violet Rebel, and the Fight Me Fuschia certainly also makes a statement, though one I've enjoyed to help brighten my face on a dull day. At the moment I cannot get enough of red lips, and consequently, I am absolute loving the four red shades, Orange Outburst, Talk Back Red, Red-dy Or Not and Berry Naughty - and actually find it difficult to say which of these I like the most. All in all it means that of the 8 shades, I am actually really liking 7 of the shades, leaving just the purple Violet Rebel on the sideline, which really isn't bad - so personally from me, it is a well done to Maybelline for putting together such a well-balanced range of wearable shades.

But what about the formula of these Color Jolts… Overall, I like how easy they are apply and that they go on smoothly, though you do have to be careful as a little too much and they do 'bleed' due to their high pigmentation, so I do recommend blotting afterwards. The colours are all very true to the shade of the tube, and generally I found that they lasted quite well on the lips, and even when worn off, the darker red shades leave a nice stain behind on the lips. I also like that they feel quite lightly moisturising on the lips, unlike many semi-matte lipsticks which are often very drying.

Initially they do have a slight sheen, but it does wear off, leaving them looking matte. Personally, I would have liked them to be a tad glossier, but then again, you can always add a clear gloss on top if you wish.

So all in all I really feel that these Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint are amazing, offering gorgeous colours that are easy to wear and feels lovely on the lips. And at a very affordable price too. Definitely worth a try!

Maybelline New York Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint - RRP: $14.95 / 6.4ml
Available from Priceline, and selected Coles, Woolworths and Pharmacies

PRODUCT REVIEW: PHYSICIANS FORMULA MURUMURU BUTTER BRONZER, ABC CUSHION FOUNDATION AND ORGANIC WEAR CC CURL AND CARE MASCARA

I have previously featured some products from Physicians Formula - and today I'm excited to share a few more that I've been putting to the test lately..

Let's start with the Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer. This bronzer has been infused with blend of Murumuru Butter, Cupuacu Butter and Tucuma Butter, from the lush and nutrient-rich Amazon. These ingredients are loaded with essential fatty acids and pro-vitamins that soften, condition and moisturise skin, and thanks to these ingredients, the bronzer is very creamy and soft with a cream to powder consistency.

The bronzer comes with a sponge applicator included in a compartment underneath the bronzer, which also has a mirror - which packaging wise, is very similar to other powders from the brand. And while the coloured is very cute and perfect for touchups on the go, I pretty much only apply makeup at home, so I do prefer to use my own brushes in stead. The bronzer has a stunning rippled effect, and comes in a slightly bulky yellow and green compact, with printed palm leaves, that does give it a tropical feel, which is only accentuated by the coconut scent. If you regularly tune into BLH, you'll know that coconut scented products are not exactly my faves, and thus, I would also prefer if this bronzer wasn't quite as strongly scented as it is. But luckily it does fade little by little.

As for the actual bronzer - I actually really enjoy using it as it is so soft and creamy, it is quick and easy to apply and also blends very easily, and it does give the skin a gorgeous natural bronzed glow, and without looking dry or cakey thanks to its moisturising formula. I also really like that it unlike many other bronzers doesn't contain any glitter or shimmer. I tried the shade Light, which is perfect for my medium beige skin tone, but I can imagine that this shade is possibly too dark for those with very pale skin. Overall really enjoying using this bronzer, but again just wish that it didn't have such a strong, and to me it is a slightly overpowering coconut scent.

Then there's the Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free All-in-1 ABC Cushion Foundation. Cushion Foundations are very raved about at the moment, and most brands have or are launching their own versions, and I for one, have to admit that I do love these types of foundations having tried a few different ones, so also excited putting this one from Physicians Formula to the test. And I have to say that of everything I've tried, and seen too, this Cushion Foundation from Physicians Formula is without a doubt the prettiest of them all, with its turquoise quilted design. It also has a slightly bulky design, but then again, all other cushion foundations I've come across are like that! And like all other Cushions I've tried, this one also have an internal compartment with an extra seal to ensure it doesn’t dry out, and it comes with a sponge to dose and apply. The foundation has a very light mineral formula and claims to be an all in one offering airbrushing, blurring and correcting properties, while also adding hydration to the skin and having a smoothing and firming effect.

The foundation has a light to medium coverage, which can be built up slightly, and thus does cover minor imperfections such as lighter pigmentation, blemishes and redness, though I do feel that I need to use a more heavy duty concealer to cover the massive dark circles under my eyes I've been sporting lately. But that said, I do love the dewy finish of this foundation and the fact that it makes my skin look very natural, and I can see myself purchasing this again.

Finally, there's the Physicians Formula Organic Wear CC Curl + Care Mascara. This mascara is 100% natural and made up of 70% organic ingredients, which I really love. It is also free from harsh chemicals, synthetic preservatives, parabens and synthetic fillers, but rather it uses natural colour pigments and natural preservatives. It also contains aloe, cucumber and tapioca starch to nourish and set, sugar film to sculpt the lashes, along with renewable biopolymer to add curve and fullness.

The mascara promises to both care, condition and nourish the lashes, while giving them curl as if you've used an eyelash curler! Now I admit to rarely using an eye lash curler, but I don’t quite think the mascara can live up to this claim of 'saying goodbye to your eyelash curler', although it certainly does give my lashes a significant lift and curl. The mascara has a curved brush and I like that from the very first use, it doesn't clump like many other new mascaras that are simply too wet in the beginning. For a drug-store mascara it also adds a decent amount of both volume and length, and again also curl to my lashes which I really like, although neither is dramatic - but then again, it doesn’t make that claim either. The mascara also promises to provide 24 hours wear, but unfortunately my eyes very easily water, and consequently I mostly use waterproof mascaras to avoid that panda look - and unfortunately this mascara isn't waterproof, and after a walk where the cold winds made my eyes water, I sadly had more mascara down my cheeks when I got home than on my lashes. Such a shame, as I actually think this is a great everyday mascara.

So there you go, a selection of Physicians Formula products. And while I really enjoyed using all, and will continue to use them, the highlight for me was definitely the Cushion Foundation.

Physicians Formula Organic Wear CC Curl + Care Mascara - RRP: $24.95 / 7.5g
Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free All-in-1 ABC Cushion Foundation - RRP: $29.95 / 14ml

Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer - RRP: $29.95 / 11g

With long hair, that is coloured, and frequently heat styled, it can often be left looking stressed and dull. But lately I've been loving the new Matrix Biolage Sugar Shine Illuminating Mist.

The Matrix Biolage Sugar Shine Illuminating Mist is a part of a new hair care range, which has been inspired by skincare, to create exceptional shine with the use of sugar. PRODUCT REVIEW: RIMMEL LONDON WAKE ME UP ANTI-FATIGUE FOUNDATION AND CONCEALER AND #INSTA FIX AND GO 1 IN 1 PRIMER AND SETTING SPRAY

Rimmel London really has hit the mark lately with their new product releases, which are not only right on trend, but also high quality products considering their affordable high-street price tag. And the latest releases, the Wake Me Up Anti-Fatigue Foundation and Concealer along with the #Insta Fix & Go 2 in 1 Primer & Setting Spray are no exceptions.

The new and improved Rimmel London Wake Me Up Anti-Fatigue Foundation promises to visibly reduces the signs of daily stress and fatigue for a healthy looking complexion, leaving the skin looking brighter and more refreshed with an even skin tone. It contains among others a vitamin complex which includes Vitamin C to help protect the skin from sun damage, premature ageing and external aggressors, along with radiance pearls to cover imperfections and smooth skin for a pore-less, radiant finish.

The actual foundation comes with SPF 20 and it is quite light, and easy to apply and blend, and it gives a nice medium coverage, with a dewy natural finish, which I really like, and it easily covering some pigmentation and redness - and as promised, it really does leave my skin looking glowing and radiant, and thus more healthy and awake, thanks to super fine shimmer particles - which is thankfully super fine, so it doesn’t make my combination skin look too shiny. With combination skin, I also love that it actually stays put most of the day, without looking shiny or sliding off my face mid-day! It has a lovely fresh floral scent, which I really like, and I also love that it comes in a pump bottle, which makes it even easier to dispense and apply. I never tried the original version, but I'm really impressed with this one. Such great value for money too.

Where the foundation doesn't cover, the new Rimmel Wake Me Up Anti-Fatigue Concealer comes in handy. It has a medium coverage and does cover up most dark circles and bags under the eyes, along with darker areas of pigmentation, blemishes and redness, but for other areas where my skin really needs it, I would have liked it to have a slightly better coverage. Or perhaps it just that I've got too much that needs covering up! The concealer also contains Vitamin C along with the radiance pearls to help diffuse the light, to make the for instance darker circles under the eyes look more radiant and awake, which I can definitely confirm that it does. It has a nice creamy texture and again blends quickly and easily, and as claimed, it also stays put all day, without settling into fine lines and wrinkles.

Finally, there's the Rimmel #Insta Fix & Go 2 in 1 Primer & Setting Spray, and who doesn't love a good multi-tasking products, I certainly love that this is doubling as both a primer and a setting spray, plus you can use it to refresh the skin throughout the day too.

The primer is oil-free, which is great when you've got combination skin like me, so no need to worry that it will make your skin look greasy throughout the day.

It is so easy to apply, though I would have liked it to spray in a finer mist - but you simply spritz over the face and wait a few moments before applying your makeup, and then once done, spray again to set it. So much quicker than a cream or gel based primer. The Insta Fix & Go promises to help prolong the wear of makeup making it look nicer for longer, and it really does stop that dreaded shine. And at the same time, it feels lovely and revitalising on the skin thanks to the added cucumber extract, which also makes it smell absolutely divine. With two toddlers I'm always in such a hurry when I'm getting ready, and as I am always struggling with makeup going shiny halfway through the day, I am really enjoying this spray, so I can easily see this one becoming a stable in my makeup cabinet.

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Anti-Fatigue Foundation - RRP: $19.95 / 30ml
Rimmel London Wake Me Up Anti-Fatigue Concealer - RRP$14.95 / 7ml
Rimmel London #Insta Fix & Go 2 in 1 Primer & Setting Spray - RRP: $13.95 / 100ml

PRODUCT REVIEW: PUR COSMETICS AIR PERFECTION CC CUSHION FOUNDATION, STROBE PALETTE AND MINERAL GLOW

As a beauty fanatic I love trying out and discovering new brands - and recently I came across PUR Cosmetics, and tested out their Best Sellers Kit (which you can read all about here), and really loved their products - so needless to say that when some of their newer releases landed on my desk, I was naturally very excited.

If you're not familiar with PUR Cosmetics, then you must know that it is a U.S mineral makeup range that harsh underlying purpose of making products formulated with good-for-your-skin ingredients that not only help cover skin imperfections but also help correct its overall appearance.

First up there's the PUR Cosmetics Air Perfection CC Cushion Foundation. This foundation has a massive SPF50, which you can only applaud it for when you live in a country like Australia. The actual foundation is infused with anti-ageing amino acids, antioxidants, vitamins and advanced botanical problem solvers, and also contains Brazil Babassu Oil to soften and soothe irritated skin for a soft, dewy complexion.

The foundation has an extremely light mousse-like texture, and the included sponge makes it so easy to apply and blend. It gives the skin a sheer coverage, as you'd expect from a CC Foundation, but it can easily be build up to a medium coverage, while still looking very natural. This means that it does cover minor redness and pigmentation, although I do fee the need to use a concealer to cover the dark circles under my eyes, and larger areas of darker pigmentation. The actual foundation comes in a white compact with an internal mirror, and as such it looks like most other cushion foundations. It has a lovely, but subtle floral fragrance that you can only love.

Overall I really love this Air Perfection CC Cushion Foundation, it really is light as air, and as it also gives the skin a lovely matte finish, it is perfect for my combination skin too, also because it doesn’t contain any petroleum-based oils that can clog up the pores. My skin also loves the fact that while it does contain hydrating properties, it is still so light that it doesn’t make my skin look shiny or oily throughout the day. This is the perfect foundation for a casual every day makeup. At $59 it is at the higher end of the scale for a foundation - but then again, it actually comes with a full sized bonus refill, which then suddenly makes it very well priced.

Next there's the PUR Cosmetics Mineral Glow Bronzer, which like all other PUR products, is no ordinary bronzer. You see, this bronzer has added shea butter to help soothe and moisturise the skin, along with ceratin complex, AHA and retinol to help add hydrating ceramides to the skin and help to smooth lines and wrinkles. Normally I don't like shimmery bronzers - mainly because I find they are often too glittery, plus they make my combination skin look shiny and consequently greasy, so I was a little wary when I saw this bronzer. But I was pleasantly surprised. This bronzer gives the most gorgeous natural tan and healthy looking glow, and without looking orange or fake. It is super easy to apply and blend and works perfectly for contouring too. It goes on sheer, but you can easily build up the intensity if you like. It simply gives you the most gorgeous radiant glow.

Finally, there's the PUR Cosmetics Sun-Kissed Strobe Palette. This gorgeous palette is quite different in packaging to the other products - I mean, the cushion compact is white, the bronzer silver, yet this palette comes in a sleek, slim black and gold compact with a magnetic closure and internal mirror and it simply that oozes luxury - and hence, without a doubt, my favourite packaging of the three. And I never can resist beautifully packaged products.

The palette contains three iridescent highlighting shades to illuminate, define and flatter your face and achieve the perfectly strobed look. The shades are light and creamy and all super concentrated, so you only need the tiniest amount. And they simply glide onto your skin, quickly and easily, and are super fast to blend seamlessly too, giving you such a gorgeous illuminated buildable dewy glow.

The palette contains three complementary self-setting cream-to-powder shades, Aurora, Solar, and Dusk. Aurora is the palest shade, a warm beige shade, while Solar is a dusty rosy pink shade, and Dusk is a golden bronze shade.

The shades can be used to high points of the face, such as top of the cheeks, brow bone, or above the cupids bow for an instant glow. I have a medium beige skin tone, and these shades all work so well with my skin tone, but I believe the shades will work well with most skin tones as the shades simply melt onto the skin, and simply leave the skin looking more radiant and glowing, without depositing too much colour.

So yet again I am super impressed with these products from PUR Cosmetics. They are simply of such high quality and I love the fact that they contain skin caring ingredients as well. Definitely highly recommended.

PUR Cosmetics Air Perfection CC Cushion Foundation - RRP: $59 / 2 x 10ml
PUR Cosmetics Mineral Glow - RRP $42 / 12g
PUR Cosmetics Strobe Palette RRP $45 /

PRODUCT REVIEW: L'UNICO LABORATORY PHYTO FRUIT PEEL, VITAMIN C SERUM, FIRMING EYE THERAPY, DAY CREAM AND NIGHT CREAM

Today I'd like to introduce you to a new luxury skincare brand that has just been launched in Australia, L'Unico Laboratory. L'Unico Laboratory is an Australian range that uses European engineered peptides and organic extracts for products that absorb instantly into the skin to help give immediate effective and visible results, protecting, rebuilding and addressing signs of ageing.

Some other key facts about this new brand is that L'Unico is Italian and means THE ONLY ONE, and the key advantages of the products are;

  • L'Unico uses nano-sized ingredients that are handcrafted to allow for 100% skin penetration and instant absorption.
  • All products have an aqueous base with a minimal use of 0.1% of natural oils or plant extract, which allows the formula to be instantly absorbed into the deepest layers of the skin.
  • L'Unico uses advanced variations of peptides to act as a signal to skin cells to make new collagen, improve wrinkles and firmness and reduce pigmentation.
  • Packaging is 100% light-resistant to guarantee stability within every drop of the formula, protecting against oxidation and deterioration by light.
Now onto the actual products. I've put a selection to the test, and here are my thoughts..

The L'Unico Neuropeptide Firming Eye Therapy is a nourishing eye cream that promises to decrease the appearance of puffiness around the eye area and help to improve skin elasticity while restoring and correcting the delicate skin around the eyes. It also helps eliminate the appearance of dark circles.

And this eye cream seriously is incredible, as after just a few uses I could start to see that the skin around my eyes looked and felt both firmer and brighter, as well as dark circles remarkably reduced too. The cream absorbs immediately into the skin, and without any greasiness, so it is also perfect for using under makeup. The cream does take a few moments to absorb, but once it has, it leaves no residue and the eye area feels soft and smooth after application. It has a lovely fresh fruity scent and I also love that it is a hypoallergenic formula that is super gentle around my sensitive eyes.

Then there's the L'Unico High Potency 30% Vitamin C Serum, which contains a highly stable form of Vitamin C, ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, or, more specifically, the tetraester of ascorbic acid and isopalmitic acid. This works as a powerful antioxidant and is a potent oil-soluble form of Vitamin C ester, which helps prevent cellular ageing by inhibiting the cross-linking of collagen, oxidation of proteins and lipid peroxidation - or in other words, it helps to boost collagen in the skin, and aids with the skin's hydration and density, help reduce the appearance of dark circles and spots as well as provide UV protection.

The serum has a gorgeous orange scent, and I did initially find it slightly oily on my combination skin, but overcame this by simply using less of this super concentrated serum. Just a few drops is sufficient, so while it may not be cheap, the bottle will last you forever, and as it can last up to 18 months without oxidising, that is not an issue. The light serum absorbs fairly quickly into the skin, and is to be used morning or night after cleansing and prior to moisturiser. And it seriously didn't take long for me to fall in love with this, as already after a few uses, I could tell how soft and glowing it made my skin feel and look. While my combination skin doesn't seem to lack moisture, it has still given it a visible boost, and I am also convinced that it is helping to reduce the appearance of some marks from recent breakouts. I could certainly get used to using this as a part of my regular skincare routine.

Then there's the L'Unico Youth Essence Day Cream and Regenerative Neuropeptide Night Formula, which both promises to help prevent the formulation of fine lines and wrinkles.

The Youth Essence Day Cream contains a mixture of vitamins, amino acids and the powerful peptides Acetyl Glutamyl Octatapeptide and Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, which helps reduce wrinkle depth and in reducing surface muscle tension, while also protecting the skin and boosting collagen synthesis, helping to inhibit enzymatic destruction and to minimise unscheduled collagen degradation. But that's not all, it also helps maintain the skin's moisture balance, tone, elasticity land density, and counter the damaging effects of UV exposure.

The cream has a very subtle scent and is very light, absorbing immediately into the skin without any residue, but leaving it so soft and smooth, so again perfect for use under makeup during the day.

The Regenerative Neuropeptide Night Formula contains among others a encapsulated retinol (vitamin A), which helps to reverse the chronological signs of ageing including the appearance of fine wrinkles and expression lines, while boosting keratin, protein and collagen and minimising photo damage. The cream has a thicker and richer consistency, which you'd expect for a night cream, and it does take a few moments to absorb into the skin, but like the day cream, it also uses a nano technology to ensure it absorbs quickly and into the deeper layers of the skin for improved efficiency. I was initially concerned that it would be too rich for my combination skin prone to breakouts, as it is also so hydrating, but thankfully that has not been the case.

These two moisturisers do not come cheap, but they are highly concentrated, so you seriously only need to use a little, and I have to say that these products really do live up to their claims, and I am so impressed with the results, as my skin has been looking so much nicer, brighter, and I'd almost dare say, younger, in the time I've used them, so definitely worth their high price tag if you can afford them.

Finally, there's the L'Unico Phyto Fruit AHA Micro Peel, which is the perfect solution to an at-home-pampering session. These peel pads are to be used weekly after cleansing, by simply wiping them over your face for 10 minutes avoiding the sensitive eye and lip area before washing it off. The pads are soaked in fruit acids, with a concentrated blend of five botanical extracts including sugar cane, apple, orange, lemon and camellia oleifera leaf, - which combined offer lactic acid, glycolic acid, citric acid, malic acid and tartaric acid, to gently exfoliate the outer layer of the skin, exposing new skin layers that appear brighter, radiant and more even. The pads are available in three different strengths for different skin types, and promise to decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and leave the skin fresher and more glowing and with a more even skin tone. I tried the level 1 Peel, which is the lowest strength, recommended for fair skin tones.

These pads are so super easy to use, and I love that they are so moist that you can continue to wipe the over your face, unlike other wipes that seem to dry out more or less immediately. I did feel a slight tingle at the first use, but only ever so slightly, and to be honest I think my skin would probably be ok with a slightly higher strength, being used to more intense skincare products. That said, I am so loving the effects of these, as the leave my skin looking so much brighter and more radiant and glowing too, and as a bonus, I actually also feel that they help clear up any breakouts that I may have. I am unsure exactly how many pads the pack contains, as the actual packaging doesn’t say, but considering that you are only supposed to use these weekly, I can already tell that these are going to last a long time. Thankfully, as I am so in love with these that I never want the jar to empty out.

So overall I am seriously impressed with these L'Unico Laboratory products - no they are not cheap, but they are seriously efficient, and really do live up to their claims, so if you can afford it, I highly recommend that you splurge and try out some of the products - I know that I'll be saving to repurchase when I run out of especially those Peel pads!

PRODUCT REVIEW: DR HAUSCHKA EYE AND BROW PALETTE AND MOISTURISING LIPSTICK

One of those brands that I used a lot growing up in Denmark was the German brand Dr Hauschka - but when moving to Australia, I didn't really see it anywhere. Last year, I put some of their new products from their limited edition Spectacular Comeback Makeup Collection Autumn/Winter 2016 to the test, which you can read more about there. And I have really enjoyed using these products, and still reach for them, so I was excited when some of the products from the revised makeup range landed on my desk.

The new range consists of a massive 82 products, which are all based on medicinal herbs to help activate the skin's natural abilities, plant waxes and oil including jojoba, avocado, and macadamia nut oils for intensive nourishment and smooth skin, silk and minerals for naturally radiant colours and nourrishment and reduced shine - and all these ingredients are of course 100% natural and NATRUE certified, and contain no mineral oils, parabens, silicones, phthalates and PEGs and of course no synthetic chemical fragrances, dyes or preservatives.

The Dr. Hauschka moisturising Lipstick is made with mineral pigments and botanical ingredients such as rose petals, almond oil and carnauba wax, and it has a gorgeous floral scent. It feels so lovely on the lips, and the soft formula glides on easily, and as it is quite pigmented, just one swipe is sufficient for a full coverage, with a slight sheen. The shade Paeony is a rich dark red shade, that is so stunning, - a dark classic red shade that is perfect for a night out, or simply to brighten up your everyday makeup. Due to the pigmentation and dark shade, it also has a good wear of several hours, though a little less if you eat or drink, but even when it fades, it does so evenly, leaving behind a nice stain on the lips.

Then there's the Dr. Hauschka Eye & Brow Palette in the Stone combination, which contain four beautiful shades. All shades are matte, and ranging from an off-white, a taupe, a chocolate brown and a very dark brown that combined help create depth and the perfect smoky eye, and perfectly shaped eye brows. The mineral eye shadows contain silk powder and nourishing botanicals such as black tea to moisturise and soothe the delicate skin around the eyes - and they are so soft and easy to work with. You can naturally use shades individually for a more simple every day look, or easily build up the intensity as they are so pigmented. The eye quad comes in a gorgeous round shaped black compact, which has a large internal mirror, and also comes with a double ended applicator with a soft rounded brush in one end to be used for the eyes and a tapered brush in the other end, to use on the eyebrows. The eye shadows also have a gorgeous floral scent, that you can only adore.

I really enjoy using these products. The lipstick has a gorgeous shade and is beautiful to wear, so I can see myself checking out the rest of the range, and also checking out the sheer lipstick range, as well as the pretty blush duo's and the colour correcting powders.

If you're looking for beautiful 100% natural makeup, then I highly suggest that you check out this new range from Dr Hauschka.

Dr. Hauschka Eye & Brow Palette - RRP: $70.00
Dr. Hauschka Lipstick - RRP: $49.01

Dr. Hauschka is available from David Jones, Active Skin, Adore Beauty, Facial Co, and Dr. Hauscha Online

PRODUCT REVIEW: ORIBE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER FOR BEAUTIFUL COLOR

I admit it, I am a total sucker for beautifully packaged beauty products - so imagine my squeal when these incredibly stunning bottles with the Shampoo for Beautiful Color and the Conditioner for Beautiful Color from Oribe landed on my desk…

These deep red glossy bottles are just beyond anything I've ever seen in shampoo bottles before, with their gold writing, and the logo that protrudes from the bottle. And what about that odd shaped shampoo bottle that looks more like a perfume bottle!!

But I guess, as they say, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, so let's find out what the products are like..

The Oribe Shampoo and Conditioner for Beautiful Color is a super gentle products that are designed to protect your hair colour making it look nicer and brighter for longer.

The products contains a mix of gorgeous ingredients including the Oribe Signature Complex, which is Watermelon, Lychee and Edelweiss Flower Extracts, which helps to defend the hair from oxidative stress, photo-aging and the deterioration of natural keratin as well as protect it from any drying, damaging and color-depleting effects of the elements. In addition, it also contains bioflavonoids, responsible for giving fruits their fantastic hues, to protect hair’s own color fro fading and discoloration, along with Baobab Tree Extract,to provide superior moisture to the driest areas of the hair. The products also have a Multi-Layered UV Protection System to give the hair long-lasting UV protection.

The Oribe Shampoo for Beautiful Color is very concentrated, and I only need to use the smallest amount, even in my long thick hair, and I can immediately feel how the soft lather is so gentle on my hair. The conditioner is rich, thick and creamy, and immediately absorbs into my dry hair. And after rinsing, my hair is left so incredibly soft, and is easier than ever to comb out. Once dry, my hair is left looking so soft and smooth that I cannot stop running my hands through it, and generally it also looks very shiny, glossy and healthy, with dry ends seemingly in much better condition as well as my frizz also seems to be minimised. And that was after just the very first use!! It is difficult to say what effect the products have had on my coloured hair, as it has been some time since it was coloured, but I do know that the products make my hair so easy manage and style and generally both feels and looks better than it has in a long time, which makes it all worth it.

Also worth mentioning, along with the stunning bottles, is that the products have the most divine fruity scent - not artificial or overwhelming like many haircare products, but so natural and just beautiful, so I am also very pleased that this gorgeous scent lingers in my hair after each wash.

So overall, I really am impressed with these products, they are as luxurious on the inside as they look on the outside. Yes they are pricey, but if you like me, spend hours upon hours at the hairdresser paying a fortune to get your hair coloured, then in my opinion, it is worth inventing in haircare products that will help maintain the colour and the health of your hair - so if you want to treat your hair to something extra nice, then you simply must try these products fro Oribe.

Oribe Shampoo for Beautiful Color - RRP: $56 / 250ml
Oribe Conditioner for Beautiful Color - RRP: $59 / 200ml
Available from select salons - call 1300 725 122 for stockists

PRODUCT REVIEW: SUNESCAPE SELF TAN AND ILLUMINATING BODY TINT

Where did summer go. I cannot believe that it I almost winter here, and how fast temperatures are dropping. The lovely warm summer sun seems but a faint memory ago, - and my gorgeous summer tan is long gone, and my skin is looking pale and pasty. Nothing wrong with that, nothing at all actually - but if you're anything like me, I certainly feel I look better and healthier when I've got a just a slight tan. And that's where Sunescape comes in handy…

Sunescape is an Australian brand, developed in the world-famous Bondi. And to create and maintain a beautiful tan, you just cannot go past Sunescape’s best value ‘Take Home Gift Box’ includes;

  • Sunescape Self Tanning Mouse - Available in two colour options, Week in Fiji, or Month in Maui
  • Sunescape Hydrating Body Butter
  • Sunescape Hydrating Shower Gel
  • Sunescape Self-Tan Applicator Mitt

The Sunescape Instant Self Tan Mousse, which is a lightweight, mousse that instantly give your skin a radiant bronzed look. It contains among others macadamia nut, coconut and avocado oils to keep the skin soft and hydrated, while the antioxidants from the added green tea, kakadu plum, grape seed extract and vitamin E help nourish and protect the skin. And while this mousse instantly gives your skin colour- which by the way, also helps make it easier to apply evenly as you can see where you've already applied it - the full tan takes 4-5 hours to fully develop. The mouse is very light, and absorbs quickly into the skin, but to avoid colour transfer onto your clothes, it is recommended that you want about 5-10 minutes getting dressed after you've applied it.

To make application even easier and completely streakfree too, the kit also comes with an application mitt that you can use again and again - and it really is brilliant, and not to mention, saves you getting self-tanner under your nails and staining them! And as promised, after about four hours, your skin has the most beautiful glowing tan, that is not looking orange or fake, but rather healthy and natural. As if you've just spent the day at a tropical island.

One of the things I often don't like about self-tanners, and the reason I don't use them as often as I probably should, is that I generally just don't like the smell as they develop, but I have to say that I am beyond impressed with Sunescape. Yes, there is a scent, but compared to others that I've previously tried, this actually smells nice! I also like that once it fades, it does so evenly, like any normal tan would.

So after the 4 or so hours, you can have a quick rinse, but just a quick one as you do not want to wash everything off - but you don't have to, and if you don't the colour will continue to develop further. And for this shower, the Sunescape Hydrating Shower Gel is the perfect body wash. It contains among others kiwi, avocado, and passionflower and has been designed to extend the life of your tan. The shower gel is free from sulfates and soaps so it doesn't dry out the skin, but rather the added extracts from the tropical flowers along with the coconut oil, not only makes this smell incredible, it also gently cleanses the skin, keeping it soft and hydrated.

To help you extend the life of your tan, the Sunescape hydrating Body Butter is perfect. This thick and rich body butter contains among others cocoa and shea butters, along with nut oils, mango fruit extracts and vitamin E to help nourish the skin, while also helping to reinvigorate and repair it. This body butter is thick, rich and creamy, and is so lovely on the skin. It does take a moment to absorb, but once it has, it leaves the skin feeling so soft and deeply nourished, and thus not only making your skin look healthier and younger, but also making your tan stay put for longer. It also has a divine coconut scent.

In addition, I have also been loving the Sunescape Illuminating Body Tint, which is a wash-off instant tanner, that instantly gives your skin a beautiful radiant glow. This non-sticky body lotion contains among others a blend or argan, macadamia nut and coconut oils to hydrate and soothe the skin along with fruit extracts from guava and pomegranate to give it a lovely tropical scent. As the name suggests, it is slightly tinted, and is perfect to enhance your current tan, or use on its own of course, as it also helps smooth out uneven skin tones disguising smaller imperfections, and make the skin look more glowing and radiant thanks to containing just a touch of shimmer.

It is easy to apply evenly, though you do have to wait 10 or so minutes afterwards before getting dressed to avoid the colour transferring onto your clothes. And it quickly and easily washes off again with soap and water.

Overall I have to say that I am beyond impressed with these products from Sunescape. The self tan is so super easy to use, and even a non-frequent user like me, managed to get a beautiful even and streak-free tan the very first time. Yes, the products do have a slight scent, but compared to most others, this is really so insignificant, that even I can put up with it.

You can naturally purchase all the products individually, but the Self-Tan Kit is perfect as it contains everything you need and even saves you a couple of dollars too. And the added Illuminating body tint, is such a great addition - perfect to give your skin an illuminated glow, so the ideal product to use on special occasion when you want to look even more radiant and healthy.

Yes, I would love nothing more than chilling a week in Fiji or even better a month in Maui, but that's not likely to happen anytime soon, but at least I can look forward to facing the first winter in a very long time with a beautiful healthy and natural looking tan, thanks to Sunescape.

Sunescape Self-Tan at Home Box, containing Instant Self Tan Mousse, 250ml, Hydrating Shower Gel, 200ml and Hydrating Body Butter, 250ml, Applicator Mitt - RRP: $79.80 (valued at $99.75)
Sunescape Illuminating Body Tint - RRP: $39.95 / 200ml

PRODUCT REVIEW: VTECH TELETUBBIES MY 1ST TABLET

I may have mentioned it before, but my little boy is so in love with Teletubbies. He was given a red Teletubbie, Po, and immediately fell in love with her, and it is without a doubt one of his favourite soft toys. And as all other toddlers, he is increasingly more and more interested in our computers and phones, so when the new Vtech Teletubbies My 1st Tablet landed on our desk for him to trial and review, we immediately knew it was sure to be a hit..

The Vtech Teletubbies Tablet is bright and colourful tablet suitable for 6 to 36 months olds. It has a touch screen that you can swipe and tap to encourage play with Tinky-Winky, Dipsy, Laa Laa and Po, and you can tap on either of the four teletubbies and hear fun responses.

The tablet has 8 pretend app buttons to choose from to help your little one engage and learn topics such as numbers, shapes, letters, instruments, animals and nature sounds through imaginative play, while also encouraging speech through audio interaction with the fun phrases, sing-along songs and music - in fact, it has over 150 songs, melodies, sounds and phrases, so you'll never get tired of hearing the same ones over and over again. In addition, it also features light patterns and animations.

The tablet also ahs a cool camera feature, where you can zoom in and out and pretend to take photos with the app.

All in all thus is really a cool little toy for our little one, and I really love that while he is pretending to work on his tablet like daddy, he is in fact learning through play about music, words, phonics and numbers and so much more.

And because this table has so much to offer, it is also hours and hours of entertainment as he continues to discover more and more of its features.

Now, many of you will know that our little boy has been very sick and while he is thankfully doing really well, we still have frequent trips to the hospital for checkups, and we will for a long time to come - so this little table is also the perfect toy to keep him entertained during long trips to and from the hospital.

So regardless of if your little one is a Teletubbies fan or not, this Tablet is really a cool educational toy. We're impressed!

Vtech Teletubbies My 1st Tablet - RRP: $59.95
Available from Big W, Target, Myer, Toys R Us and Toyworld

PRODUCT REVIEW: KAREN MURRELL LIP PALETTE

I am sure you recall me raving about the Karen Murrell lip products - first the incredible lipsticks, which you can read all about here, and not very long ago some beautiful matching lip liners were launched, which you can read more about here. But I am not the only one who is in love, as a Karen Murrell lipstick is now sold every ten seconds globally, which says it all. They are nothing but incredible. And hence the new Lip Palette is added to the range.

Like the lipsticks and lip liners, what's so incredible about these lipsticks - besides the beautiful colour range - is that they are natural and made without any of the chemical nasties or toxins. In fact, the lip palette is made from the same nourishing ingredients as the lipsticks, which include natural ingredients such as among others evening primrose oil to soothe and moisturise, avocado oil to nourish and hydrate, cinnamon oil to plump the lips, along with carnuba wax to make sure that the palette wont melt in the warmest of climates.

Like the rest of the lip range, the colours are made with naturally derived pigments enhanced with naturally derived titanium dioxide and iron oxides.

The Karen Murrell Palette itself is just beautiful. It comes in the most divine packaging featuring a beautiful painted floral 'sleeve' and the actual palette is just as stunning. The black slimline palette has a stunning floral design and the Karen Murrrell logo printed in gold on the top of the palette, along with gold edges, which makes it look so incredible luxurious. Inside you'll find a full sized mirror, and a double ended brush applicator to make application on the go super easy.

And then there's the colours - the Lip Palette contains five of the best selling shades including:
  • Scarlet Blaze - a purple tinged red wine shade
  • True Love - a classic red
  • Coral Dawn - a bright coral-red shade
  • Poppy Passion - a bright pink
  • Carnation Mist - a pink toned mauve

Like the lipsticks, these are lipsticks are beautifully soft and smooth, and feel so lovely and comfortable of the lips. The lip brush makes them easy to apply, and perhaps do make them last a little longer on the lips, I am not sure, but I generally get about 4+ hours wear, though a little longer with the darkest shades such as Scarlet Blaze and True Love.

The range of colours in this pack is incredible, and it gives you a shade for every occasion and mood, which each one so beautiful, that it is near impossible to pick favourites, as I know I'll be using every single one of them - but if I must, I do currently really love a good bold lip, so needless to say that I've been reaching lot for Scarlet Blaze, True Love and Coral Dawn.

Karen Murrell is a New Zealand brand, although the lipsticks are made in Melbourne, Australia.

If you're not already familiar with Karen Murrell, you really need check out her products, you won't be dissapointed.

PRODUCT REVIEW: BELLABOX MAY 2017

Another month has very quickly passed, and I've teamed up with Bellabox yet again for this months Futureproof box, and here's what was in it… and yes, you may have noticed that contents in the Bellaboxes often vary from subscriber to subscriber, but make sure to read all the way to the end for a very exciting inclusion for all receivers…

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo (+) - Sample size, 3ml (RRP: $29.90 / 40ml)
I absolutely love this moisturiser that helps correct the appearance of imperfections, unclog blocked pores and fight against redness and blemishes. This non greasy moisturiser makes such a significant difference to my skin, and I love that it is non-greasy too, as it is designed for oily and acne prone skin, so it is also perfect as a base for makeup. I have just run out, and not had a chance to purchase a new tube, so this little tube will help until I can get my hands on a new one, but naturally I wouldn’t have minded a slightly bigger sample.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo (+) Unfiant - Sample size, 3ml (RRP: $29.90 / 40ml)
This is a new addition to the range, which now also comes with a light sheer tint available in two different shades. I immediately fell in love with this one too, a corrective cream that gives you coverage, doesn't get better than that, so I cannot get my hands on a full sized tube fast enough. Again, I would naturally have loved a bigger sample, but there is sufficient in the tube to try out a few times, so you can really get a feel for what it is like.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche SKinScent - Sample size 1.5ml (RRP: $95 / 50ml)

This is such a gorgeous warm citrus scent that immediately takes you back to the warm summer days. A beautiful fragrance that I wouldn't mind getting a full sized bottle off.

Kerastase Disipline Spray Fluidissime - Sample, 45ml (RRP: $46 / 150ml)
This is a leave-in anti-frizz spray that is so good. The spray is so easy to spray and work into damp hair, and the results are amazing. It simply leaves the hair so soft and shiny, while it keeps frizz at bay too and protecting it during heat styling too. And all while leaving the hair smelling absolutely amazing. I already have a full sized bottle of this, and have been loving it so much that I have been considering a repurchase, that's how good this stuff is.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleaner - Sample, 30ml (RRP: $25.70 / 1litre)
Who doesn't love this super gentle cleanser, which is perfect for even the most sensitive of skins. I actually also like using this to clean my makeup brushes, as I know it will also be gentle on them too.

Colourpop Hello Kitty Ultra Glossy Lip - Full Sized
Now for the exciting news - everyone will be getting a Colourpop lip product in their May Bellabox. This incredible LA brand has a huge cult following - and I for one has been keen to try out some of their products - and now I can. And I have to say that I am already in love too and can understand what all the hype is about. I got the shade Hello Pretty, which is a bright darker fuchsia pinky-red shade with micro shimmer, and feels lovely on the lips, being non-sticky and with a nice high gloss. Very excited to have tried something from the brand, finally - though now just even keener to try more of their products..

So there you go, the contents of the May '17 Bellabox. And again I am very impressed - in fact, I think this is one of the best boxes (albeit only few so far) I have received. I love and will use every single item. Yes, I already know several of them, such as the Cetaphil Cleanser, La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo (+) and the Kerastase Disipline Spray Fluidissime, so I guess you can say that from that point of view, there is not much new to the box, but regardless, it is products that I truly love, so I honestly don't mind, and that said, the fact that I know I will use every single item, makes this month's box great value. And on top, I am so excited about the new tinted version of the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo (+), and needless to say, the Colourpop Lip Gloss as well. Well done Bellabox, you've really hit the mark this month!

$17.95 ($15.00+ $2.95 P&H) on a subscription plan, billed monthly, but you can cancel anytime - However, right now there's an offer where you can get $5 off your first box, making it a total of $12.95 by using this link from Bellabox
Note this is not an affiliate link, just saving you a few dollars.

Ok, this is so cool - and which male would love this idea - I'm sure most males are like my hubby and find scented candles too girly and overwhelming, but this one, is sure to appeal to his masculine side, - and as it actually smells rather lovely too, it is a win-win!

This high quality stylish and unique tote bag is so trendy, and can be used for absolutely everything from your gym gear to the shopping, or as me, for the back up clothes I am always carting around for my toilet-training toddler. I love the monochrome design, and the text is fun and eye-catching too.
